Designation: Executive Medical Transcriptionist  

Reporting to: HOD / Assistant Manager Medical Transcription Key Result Areas: ✓ To produce transcriptions that is above 98% accuracy.  ✓ To complete transcriptions within 15 minutes/25 lines (500 words). Qualification & Experience: ✓ A certificate course in Medical Transcription for 6 months with 3 years experience in the same field. ✓ Any degree in English language with typing speed of 60 wpm. ✓ Good in English grammar and medical terms.  Knowledge & Skills: ✓ Ability to operate word processing, dictation, computer software and transcription equipment. ✓ Must have knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret, translate and edit medical dictation for content and clarity, resulting in a strong background as a medical transcriptionist / medical work. ✓ Proficiency in English grammar, structure and style, knowledge of transcription practices.  Responsibilities: ✓ Download dictated information into the Voice Manager and transcription. ✓ Typing of summaries / Letters / Prescriptions / Non-medical / Administrative Correspondence/Certificates ✓ Cleanliness of the department and to assess condition of equipment (printer, computer, head phone, foot pedal) and report to IT for periodical maintenance, replacement or repair. ✓ Spell-check, medical terminology and medical dictionary constantly updated in the system.  ✓ Edit as necessary and return reports in either printed or electronic form to the doctors for correction and signature.  ✓ Perform auxiliary task including answering the intercom calls ✓ Maintain required records (inward/outward registers) and providing reports as scheduled ✓ Sharing information with colleagues ✓ Posting thanking letters and discharge summaries to the referral doctors ✓ Updating of the referral doctors address/phone numbers ✓ Submit files to the MRD once the summary/letter is complete  

 

✓ Supporting Ultrasound when there is need and emergencies   

Supervision: ✓ Looking after the cleanliness of the department   

Participation : ✓ Attending department meeting ✓ Attending personality development classes and implementation of the same
